Google Maps allows you to see the evolution of Hurricane Sandy

Google Maps allows users of the service see the evolution of the hurricane Sandy on its way through the East coast of the USA. Users can see where Sandy in all times, forecasts, alerts or emergency shelters.

The hurricane of category one Sandy continues gaining intensity as it moves toward the East coast of United States, which has already led to the closure of thousands of schools and public and private institutions and the suspension of transport services, has informed the US National Hurricane Center.


So that users can know at all times the evolution of Sandy, Google has enabled the CrisisMaps in Google Maps tool. This map allows users to learn more about the development of the strong storm, something that Google has already developed on other similar occasions.

Among the options available in this map, users can see where Sandy is located at all times, forecasts, alerts, active emergency shelters, conditions of traffic of the area as well as photographs and videos from YouTube, among others.

In addition, Google Crisis has created a more specific map of New York City that shows the degree of flood risk in the areas of evacuation Yorker, in addition to specific evacuation centres, warnings from the National Center of hurricanes, tips to prepare for a hurricane, photos, videos, and webcams.
