Microsoft revamps SkyDrive: 25 GB for the faithful, Windows, Mac, iOS, Android

Microsoft revamps SkyDriveWhile Google is rumored to launch its Google Drive , Microsoft has given new life to its competitor SkyDrive service. If the former users can benefit from 25 GB free, new are being reduced to 7 GB space that 99.94% of current users do not exceed Skydrive. It is in any case more than 5 GB offering 2 GB of Dropbox or more than most competitors Cloud. But especially Microsoft released client applications to integrate the online space in Windows Explorer or the Mac OS Finder.


Goodbye Windows XP

On Mac OS, or Windows (Vista, 7, 8: XP is abandoned) the client is currently sketchy and does almost no possibility of customization. We can simply, during installation, choose where to store the file will be “SkyDrive”, one whose content is synchronized online. Microsoft has revised upwards the maximum size of downloadable files: 2 GB

Remote access for dummies

But SkyDrive has another string to its bow: can be accessed via the website skydrive.com to content from any PC on which the client is installed skydrive and associated with the same account, of course. The files are now available through streaming or full download. This remote access is not yet included in the client, you have to go through a web browser.
