Codemasters ® today announced that the highly anticipated sequel to the celebrated Race Driver: GRID ™ is already in production at Codemasters Studios and Racing is scheduled for release in 2013 for video game and entertainment systems, Xbox 360 ® from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION ® 3 and PC.

Players will have to be quick, be first and be famous when entering this competitive and exciting circus of speed. GRID 2 in pre-production for two years, is already in full swing with the latest evolution of the award winning graphics engine EGO Game Technology Platform. The Original GRID rose much the bar with its artificial intelligence, graphics, damage and flashbacks, replays now adopted by many other racing games-but that’s nothing next to the improvements brought GRID 2 in gameplay and technological advancement – always faithful to the fundamental principle of the series: the tension in the race.
“GRID has returned and with it the excitement in street racing, track and asphalt,” said Clive Moody, executive producer. “The design philosophy of GRID 2 is treating the race like a character, not as a consequence of putting the cars on the track and now. Everything that happens in the game influences that, second to second, every moment it is part of the drama, feelings and personality of every race. ”
“Through new tools, technology and innovation are once again pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved in this genre. Both individual modes as split screen or online, the new version of the Technology Platform, graphics , IA, control or advancement in the damage will immerse players in a driving experience that have never imagined. Like its predecessor, GRID 2 takes the stress and adrenaline of racing at the heart of the experience. This is what Total Immersion call Race. ”
The comprehensive career mode lets face dog competitions against AI opponents while racing, they display spectacular cinematic atmosphere. The new control system TrueFeel, an evolution of the original GRID uses real physics to find the right balance between accessibility and simulation, so if the car’s handling is affordable, your domain becomes more demanding.
Players will compete for glory with a selection of legendary automobiles spanning four decades and three continents – America, Europe and Asia. Paris, Abu Dhabi, Miami, the sunny coast of California and more; official circuits, street circuits recreated to detail and mountain trails to the edge of the impossible will become headquarters of the most visceral and exciting career so far.
The multiplayer experience GRID 2 is also due to its outstanding game component and a broad and differentiated unique progression system. Many options for customization and deep integration with RaceNet * – the online community portal that Codemasters Racing keeps track of players, rewards and rivals – offer connectivity and immersion in the game even more if possible.
