Is it impossible to protect Windows?

The new protection system to Windows 8 pirates managed to contain only a few hours.

A Russian hacker identified as wzt leaked to Internet Pro and Enterprise versions of Windows 8. Later, the same individual provided access to the keys of activation of the volume distribution versions. few hours after the activation server began receiving the first call of pirates, Microsoft blocked the system, making it impossible to activate Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise by illegitimate users.

This, in turn, cause an immediate response from hackers, who at night had managed to circumvent, again allowing the activation of pirated versions of Microsoft’s new operating system. New protection technology , useless for now undoubtedly cause discomfort information on Microsoft, which has proposed to its partners OEM (original hardware manufacturers) a system for Windows which involves protection insert into the BIOS or UEFI a unique key to activate Windows 8 . The new system means that the manufacturers are the key directly from Microsoft.

In Internet forums that discuss the new anti-piracy system Windows 8, the views agree that the pirates will always find ways to circumvent the protections and use the system operating without paying. This reasoning leads some to conclude that, in fact, the best option available to Microsoft in its fight against piracy is the price of the product. That is, Windows 8 is priced “affordable for the majority,” piracy partly lost its meaning. This reasoning is highly relative, and must be contrasted with reports that even applications with a sale price of 99 cents are pirated .
