Released the final version of Skype for Windows Phone

During the last edition of the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, ​​Microsoft – which is already in the month of October had scored the acquisition of Skype – rilascito has a “beta”, yet potentially unstable, the VoIP client for advanced users for Windows Phone.

Today, after two months, the Redmond company has started shipping the final version of Skype for Windows Phone. Available in 18 different languages, among which is also Italian, so it can expand the already broad base of users (the network has about 200 million members) has decided that – worldwide – to adopt the program.
In addition to the version Phone for Windows, just released in its final form, Skype comes in the form of client software compatible with Android devices, iPhone OS, Symbian, with the ” smart TV “generation and, of course, even with both Windows and Mac OS X.


According to what emerged in recent days, Microsoft would be willing to make Skype completely accessible via the web – without the use of any client – simply by starting the browser (see this article ): “magic” is possible by using special API along with JavaScript and HTML5. Skype for Windows Phone can be used with any type of data connection (4G, 3G and Wi-Fi) and, compared to the first “beta”, the final release of the application allows you to enjoy a special video in full screen mode and new tools for contact management (lock, unlock, transmission and acceptance of such invitations).

Users of Windows Phone can already withdraw the application from the virtual store from Microsoft. Seven models of HTC phones, Samsung and Nokia on which the correct behavior of the program, as well as its performance is certified and guaranteed: 710 Lumia, Lumia Lumia 800 and 900 (Nokia), and Titan Radar (HTC), Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash.
