Waze

317_wazeWaze reported through its official website that has experienced a respectable growth of its user community, from ten to twenty million people registered on the service in just six months . A significant growth, which gives a warning the market about how the users can work together to create some quality maps for drivers.

This service provides maps for which data are generated from the information collected by the users . If you are driving and you find a traffic jam, Waze detects it and informs the users that are close to automatically recalculate your route to avoid the jam. All in real time. With a base of twenty million people, all collaborative work makes Waze maps can be compared to data managed giants like Google.

Than double its service users in six months is very good news (especially if it involves ten million users), but how the future looks Waze? Google already has maps turn by turn navigation, and Apple will begin to offer with its own platform in terms of ios 6 ships. The future face of these two giants is not very clear to say.

Anyway do not forget that Apple itself will help to show some data Waze on their maps (and certainly in exchange for a handsome sum of money paid regularly), which has its future assured Waze. A little integration there and a little power with the cooperation of all users to see a future gives perhaps somewhat diffuse but long.
